2010 Radio Days
![]() The Hazard Perry County Senior Center celebrated its 39th WSGS Radio Day by receiving over $100,000 in pledges which broke all previous records. The center thanks all of the local businesses, the coal industry and private individuals who so graciously gave to support the services for senior adults in Hazard and Perry County. A special thanks to Haven King for all of his efforts in organizing the coal companies. Thanks to Pine Branch Coal Sales employees and truck drivers and David and Susie Duff for their contribution of over $27,000 to our program. Also thanks to Representative Fitz Steele, Judge Executive Denny Ray Noble and Mayor Bill Gorman for joining us in raising funds for this important cause. Intergenerational Prom
![]() On April 9th, the First Federal Center at Hazard Community and Technical College was transformed into a beautiful, musical place for the Eighth Annual Intergenerational Prom. Hazard High School Junior and Senior paired up with senior adults from the senior center, LKLP Compassionate Hearts Adult Day, Hazard Nursing Home and the East Kentucky Veterans Center for a fun afternoon. Over 250 people enjoyed great music, dancing, food and prizes. |
